Hardware

What hardware is available on PurePowua?
On PurePowua you can reserve up to 64 Standard CPUs. Each Standard CPU is supplied with at least 1 GB of RAM. You can increase the amount of RAM while placing your reservation with the provided wizard.
What is a Standard CPU?
A Standard CPU is equivalent to a dual core Intel Xeon @ 2.00 GHz. The definition will be updated as our infrastructure is improved.
Is traffic included in the reservation cost?
Yes: during the file transfer period you can transfer data from and to your PurePowua storage with no traffic limits.

Storage

How many GB of storage can I use?
Each user can use up to 5 Gb of storage.
When can I start uploading my data to PurePowua for processing?
You can start uploading three (3) days before each reservation.
How long will my data be kept on PurePowua?
User data are kept on PurePowua up to three (3) days after each reservation.
File transfer period
I need to defer the deletion of my data! Is it possible?
You have two options to do this:
  • by placing a new reservation within three days since the last reservation;
  • by activating the "Keep my data" option that extends of 30 days the file transfer period. The option is renewable and costs 15 credits.
What happens to my data when a file transfer period ends?
You won't have access to your storage area anymore and your data will be deleted. To have a continous access to your storage use the "Keep my data" option as soon as a file transfer period starts.
I need more space for my data! Can you increase the storage for my user?
Please request it either via mail or from the contact page.
How much bandwidth is available for file transfer?
Actually there are no particular limits on it.
What is the "Keep my data" option?
"Keep my data" assures you file transfer availability and no data deletions for 30 days, even if you do not make any reservation. The data deletion can be postponed no later than 180 days (6 months) in the future. Keep my data
When can I activate "Keep my data" option?
You can activate "Keep my data" option from your MyPowua page as soon as a file transfer period is active.

Reservations

I have a running reservation. How can I access my supercomputer?
You can connect to your supercomputer's desktop using our PowuaClient or, alternatively, your favourite VNC client with the following connection details:
  • Server: username.got.purepowua.com
  • Screen: 1
  • Password: your PurePowua password
Can I modify a reservation, i.e. adding more RAM? Or delete it or postpone it?
No, you can't. Once you created a reservation you cannot modify it or delete it.
Can I stop a session and resume it later?
Not yet, but it could be possible in future.
I reserved next hour, but I got disconnected anyway and I had to restart my work.
The session is reconfigured at every reservation start. To avoid disconnection you should reserve multiple hours in a single reservation.

Credits and accounts

What is a credit?
A credit is the pricing unit used to charge all services in PurePowua. Computational power, extra RAM, software usage and storage access extensions are all charged in credits on your account.
How can I load credits into my account?
You can buy credits from the recharge page.
Do you apply any discount for bulk purchases?
Yes, absolutely. The discount grows with the quantity of credits you buy. Check price and discount details at the recharge page.
